Thickened Slab Templates: Copy Job to Global ( Utility Functions )

An SDS2 Concrete or SDS2 Concrete Station license is required to enable the use of this utility.

• Job thickened slab templates are stored in your current Job and can only be used in that Job.
• You can use Copy Job Thickened Slab Templates to Global to copy templates that you have created in your current Job to the library of global templates, which are stored in the data directory used by your current version of this program.
• That way, if you later Home > press the current Job name to change to a different Job and want to copy a global thickened slab template for use in that Job, you can use a related utility to Copy Global Thickened Slab Templates to Job .
• The number or names of templates currently in your current Job does not change as a result of your using this utility.

Step-by-step instructions :

1 . Start Copy Job Thickened Slab Templates to Global using the following method:

Method 1 : Home > Utilities > Utility Functions > Copy Job to Global > Copy Job Thickened Slab Templates to Global . If prompted to do so, enter the " Utility Password " that has been set up for your network.

2 . A selection dialog opens. On it is a list of the thickened slab templates in your current Job .

Note: If there are no thickened slab templates in your current Job, you will be notified of such, and this operation will end without the selection dialog being opened.

Alternative 1 : Select the names of the templates that you want to be copied to the global thickened slab templates repository, then press the " OK " button at the bottom of this selection dialog. Go to step 3.

Alternative 2 : Press the " Cancel " button to end the Copy Job Thickened Slab Templates to Global operation. Do not continue.

3 . One of the following happens:

Possibility 1 : An alert dialog opens if any of the thickened slab templates you selected in step 2 reside in the global repository. If you press " Yes " on this dialog, you will overwrite the thickened slab templates with those in your current Job. If you press " No " on this dialog, the Copy Global Rebar Items... operation ends. Do not continue.

One or more of the selected items already exists. Do you want to overwrite?

Note: Since global templates cannot be used directly to define a thickened slab profile, there is no danger that overwriting such global templates will have negative repercussions for the model. Only job thickened slab templates can be accessed by thickened slab edit screens -- global templates cannot.

Possibility 2 : None of the templates you selected in step 2 reside in the global repository. The templates are copied to the repository, and the operation ends.

4 . The templates selected in step 2 continue to exist in your Job as thickened slab templates and copies of these same templates are now global thickened slab templates. Users who want to use the templates you just copied in their own Jobs can do so by using a related utility called Copy Global Thickened Slab Templates to Job .
